As a Theistic Luciferian, I aspire to the qualities of Lucifer. At its most basic interpretation, Lucifer brought knowledge to humanity and allowed them to choose to use it. As His Black Cleric, I view my role as an advisor to those seeking to walk the Left-Hand Path (LHP) and to use my magical skills to accomplish that end. I was approached by one such aspirant and thus, have performed a reading on his behalf.
Clerical Exchange
The aspirant approached me through direct messages through my FetLife account and then through emails. This aspirant reports feeling a call to what he describes as “the dark” after having “feminine” and “dark” desires brought out by a hypnotist. He reports secretly building altars and invoking demonic forces in secret, allowing “shadows” to swirl around him and eventually enter his body, where he became a passenger. These shadows had him perform sexual acts with plugs and dildos, nipple clamps, and hot, dribbled wax that “sealed away the Holy Spirit” enough to allow these shadows into him.
Throughout our exchanges, the aspirant has mentioned elements of his life that point to him being in a culture of the Right-Hand Path (RHP), although he never mentioned what denomination or a specific religion. His expressed views point to feelings of shame for these desires and thus, he presents as being under the yoke of RHP teachings.
He has asked me to consult with my Patrons and to let him know if he has been “chosen to serve the darkness.”
Disclaimers
It’s a tenet of Luciferianism that we, as individuals, have individual worth. I believe that we have individual choice, individual thoughts, and that no one should force answers onto us. I believe that whatever answers we, as individuals, need in life are ours to build for ourselves individually. Nonetheless, we should avail ourselves of all the information available to us to make these decisions.
Even with a reading, do I know what’s best for the aspirant? No. He owns his own life, whether he understands that or not. Whatever information comes forward in the reading and my interpretation of the cards must be evaluated in the context of the life the aspirant leads, which I cannot know as well as he.
I believe it is my role and my sacred duty to provide answers if I have them, and by extension, to provide answers if I can get them.
The Reading
I settled into my altar space, lit the candles, fired up the incense. I spoke the enn of Lucifer and extolled my role as his Black Cleric, asking for his grace and skill at the sorcery (divination) I had begun performing. I told him that an aspirant suffered under the yoke of RHP fascist thought and needed the answer “should he be a servant of the dark?”
I spoke the enn of Raum and extolled my role as his humble servant, asking for his skill at divination, that my reading be true and my intuition be on point. I told him than an aspirant suffered under the dignities of powerful RHP organizations and needed help to free himself, needed the answer to the question “should he be a servant of the dark?”
I then drew the three cards:
Card 1 > Aspirant’s Current Situation? > X of Staves > The aspirant suffers under a heavy burden, an abuse or misuse of power and title, forcing him into a state of being overwhelmed.
Card 2 > Outcome If Aspirant Pursues LHP? > XV Lucifer > The first Lord of the Sabbath. The aspirant will become illuminated from his rebellion against the weight that overwhelms him and will learn to use his body sexually for his own pleasure as he walks the path of his own enlightenment.
Card 3 > Outcome If Aspirant Does Not Pursue the LHP? > X of Blades (Reversed) > A victory, but one that costs the aspirant everything, leaving him ash in the face of the Pyrrhic victory. There is hope he will rise, but even that will be a great effort.
The Meaning
The aspirant has come before the cards to ask the question: should he become a servant of the dark, interpreted here as, should he consciously walk the Left-Hand Path in whatever way suits him, and give into the forces that swirl around him. Currently, the aspirant sits in a space overwhelmed by emotion and his own history of semi-supernatural encounters that he regards as “dark” and “evil.” (X of Staves) He tried to pick a path forward but seems to always be drawn back into hiding and shame. The aspirant is encourage to examine the individual staves he carried, each a burden voluntarily adopted or involuntarily placed upon him, and to discard what doesn’t fit, what no longer serves, to lighten his load so that he can indeed, step onto a path.
Should he follow the LHP path more consciously? The outcome looks favorable, with the presence of a card depicting Lord Lucifer himself (XV Lucifer). Lucifer symbolized an enlightenment, a teacher who knows the deep secrets of the Universe and who could not honorably stay true to himself under the yoke of the spiritual fascism required to remain in Paradise, so he leapt to freedom and was vilified for it. Yet, Lucifer could have it no other way. In this position, the card symbolizes the possible outcome if the aspirant does something similar, give into the impulses he calls “dark,” walk the LHP, and become someone, something else than his current state. There is promise of ecstasy and pleasure — especially sexual pleasure — in doing so. What would also come would be enlightenment, a finding of his true role in the Universe and the ability to act in that role.
If the aspirant should choose not to follow the LHP more consciously, then the result will be a victory, but it will cost the aspirant almost everything, leaving him figuratively ash [X of Blades (Reversed)]. He will survive, he will gain knowledge, he will become what he should become, but the road seems hard and the struggles deep. Yet, this message does not entirely spell gloom; in the reversed position the defeat will indeed give way to a greater happiness and fulfillment, as loose ends have been destroyed and the aspirant can begin to move again.
The Message to the Aspirant
Ultimately, the aspirant will need to take this information in to himself and meditate on its usefulness, see where it leads him. It’s the Luciferian ideal that the path one walks remains sacred only as long as it is individually chosen and not coerced.
Yet, suggestions can be made. The aspirant felt that an encounter with hypnosis tracks may have unlocked his darkness and allowed it to manifest. Without know whom the hypnotist was or what track the aspirant listened to, it’s difficult to say if the suggestions and influence of that event had been performed ethically or in a skillful manner.
I can suggest the hypnosis works of my Magus, Jack Drago, as being both skillfully created and ethically based. Jack Drago’s files are balanced to allow the users plenty of choice in their workings and serve to unlock one’s darkness in a balanced way. Two tracks that he suggested to me for this aspirant, given the history above, are Shameless and Satanic Masturbation. Both are designed to address issues with which this aspirant struggles.
As a demonic image or Patron, the aspirant may also research Baphomet, who presents as both male and female aspects united in a single form, as the aspirant has mentioned the duality of gender being an issue within himself.
